3,500,000 meals are served by José Andrés’ Global Central Kitchen throughout Turkey and Syria

According to José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, 3,500,000 meals have been served in Turkey and Syria as a result of the earthquakes.

Now, Andrés has tweeted about working with regional chefs and collaborators in southern Turkey and northern Syria. Andrés is currently in Ukraine, where meals are also being delivered to the war-torn nation.

After the 2010 Haitian disaster, the D.C. chef established World Central Kitchen.

Hot meals are served in locations like the earthquake-damaged and renowned culinary city of Gaziantep, Turkey, known for its baklava. Local favorites served there include lentil soup and hamburgers.
