The United States has invited Israeli President Isaac Herzog to visit Washington next week. According to Herzog’s office, President Joe Biden will attend.
It will be Herzog’s first official travel to the US since taking office in July 2021.
On Oct. 26, he will meet with President Barack Obama at the White House, as well as top administration officials, members of the Senate and House leadership, and American Jewish community leaders.
Biden offered the invitation during his July visit to Israel.
The objective of the visit, according to the statement, is to strengthen Israel’s strong alliance with the United States and to represent the nations’ profound bonds amid these trying times.
Herzog and Biden will address strategic, security, and economic challenges, as well as collaborative climate change projects.
The Israeli president will be accompanied to Washington by Israel’s envoy to the United States. Michael Herzog and the United States Thomas Nides, Ambassador to Israel.
