Netflix has announced The Witcher Season 4, but Henry Cavill will not be returning

While we wait for The Witcher season 3, there is some good news and some potentially bad news for fantasy series fans: The program has been renewed for a fourth season by Netflix, although star Henry Cavill will not reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia.

According to the Netflix announcement(opens in new tab), Liam Hemsworth, well known as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games series, will take over the role. At the present, the only information we have about season 4 is the casting change.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been packed with both monsters and adventures,” Cavill stated in a statement. “In my place, the magnificent Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf.”

“As with the best literary characters, I pass the torch with gratitude for the time spent as Geralt and excitement to witness Liam’s interpretation of this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, dear sir, this character has so much depth to him; dive in and see what you can find.”
