Math teacher from Colorado is always there for his students, on and off duty. But his latest action restored my faith in humanity and this time for real.
His student Damien, a sick seventh grader, was diagnosed with kidney disease and had to live in the hospital for months and even years.
“I got diagnosed with fsgs photosynthesis encephalopathia,” said the little man. Damien also said he’s in need of a kidney transplant due to his disease.
He ended up in foster homes over the course of the years due to his medical needs. “Because of his medical needs, it’s difficult for the county to find a placement that can serve those needs,” the teacher said.
What the teacher did is more than amazing: he’s adopting the sick seventh grader in need of a stable home so he can stay on the kidney transplant list.
“I’m on the list and at the top because I’ve been on dialysis for so long.” Damien said.
Fin, Damien’s math teacher is giving him a second chance at life and it’s so beautiful to hear this.
