Russian theater director Yevgenia Berkovich and playwright Svetlana Petriichuk, who were detained in May in Moscow on a charge of justification of terrorism through the play, have had what the Ilhom Theater in the Uzbek city of Tashkent dubbed “a reading” of their play played there.
On June 8th, Maksim Fadeyev of the Ilhom theater stated that the “reading” of Finist — The Brave Falcon was held to show support for Berkovich and Petriichuk.
Women from Russia who married Muslims and ended up in Syria are the focus of this drama. The project that led to the accusations was directed by Berkovich.
