A Girl Wakes Up to dog Licks and smells danger that almost ended her life. Hey everyone and welcome back. Today’s episode will surely change how people see their pet dogs. As we all know, dogs are naturally outgoing animals and are known to snuggle, cuddle and licked their fur parents all the time. It’s a way for them to express their love and joy.
But one fateful morning, this family from Philadelphia never expected the reason behind their dog’s behavior. Aubrey Lomax Jr. And his family were sound asleep when their two year old shepherd and Pitbull mix named Jack noticed something strange inside the house.
Jack was in a bedroom with Aubrey sleeping two year old granddaughter Autumn, and Autumn’s mother, Ashley de Pasquale. Jack is a cheerful pup and he likes to play with Autumn the most, so it was not unusual whenever Jack lay down beside Autumn and whenever he licked her face.
Sometimes Jack would play with Ashley and the rest of the family as well. It was about 330 in the morning when Jack started to act differently. He kept on licking and pushing Ashley, who was fast asleep. On the other hand, Ashley, knowing how Jack can be, simply shrugged the dog off and continued to sleep. However, Jack was persistent.
It seemed like he really wanted to wake Ashley up. Jack was getting antsy and agitated once more. He licked Ashley’s face over and over again and Jack was barking loudly. Ashley finally gave up on the dog’s antics and woke up. It was at that moment she realized something was not right.
Nothing could have prepared her for what she saw. The bed caught on fire and it was starting to spread inside the room. Flames broke out from the wall of the two storey house. Ashley quickly got up and ran out to get help and wake everyone up. With her daughter still in the room, Jack was on the bed protecting Autumn from the flames.
At that time, Aubrey Lomax Jr. Was just about to sleep when he heard Ashley screaming in the house saying, Get up, get up, get up, get up, everybody get out. Aubrey immediately called the emergency services to help them. Then Ashley hurried back to the room and carried Autumn. Then they ran outside along with Jack.
They were all able to escape. The Ravenous fire could have taken the whole family, who had five children and four adults in the home at the time of the fire. Everyone was unharmed, including Jack. The fire Department was able to put out the fire, but the house still had minor damages from the incident. They credited their success in containing the damage to the family’s quick response.
Jennifer Lee, founder of Red Paw Emergency Relief Team, which provides services to displaced animals, said when her team arrived at the scene of the fire, the family and Jack were already outside when they got there. The first thing the family said to them was that Jack saved their lives. If it wasn’t for him, the family wouldn’t have been alive. Right now. They’re extremely lucky, said Jennifer Leery.
Jack really did save their lives. The Lomax family might never have known if it wasn’t for Jack. The Lomax family always knew Jack was special. He’s particularly attached to little autumn. Now he’s their hero.
Jack is our hero, said Aubrey Lomax Jr. Ashley de Pasquale agrees. Yes, I would. He knew something was up, she said. Jennifer Lee said it’s not the first time she and her team have seen humans crediting their furry family members with saving their skin.
People would be surprised how often they hear about that. Apparently, it’s not just dogs. Cats do it, too. Unfortunately, one of the family’s two cats did not make it out alive in the blaze, the cause of which remains under investigation. Both the surviving cat and Jack stayed at the red paws shelter temporarily as the family looked for a new place to stay.
Aubrey Lomax Jr said his house suffered smoke, fire and water damage and thankfully the red cross had reached out to assist his family. Jack did a great, great job in protecting his family and is now hailed as a hero in West Philadelphia.
