I tried McDonald’s new McCrispy burger, and it isn’t the game-changer that was advertised.

Another new day has dawned for McDonald’s lovers, as the famed golden arches has added a slew of new products to its menu.

While some of them seem amazing (mini potato waffles, anyone? ), let’s be honest: there was only one item we were all excited to try: the spanking new McCrispy Burger.

The new chicken burger, described by McDonald’s as “game-changing,” is the fast-food chain’s first permanent chicken burger in 15 years, following its Flame Grilled Chicken in 2007, so it’s been a long wait for fans who have been requesting another to be added to the menu.

Overall, I’d say my experience with McDonald’s new McCrispy burger was mixed, since there were both great and negative aspects. The bread was good, with a strong flavor punch, but the chicken was overdone and dry, and the bun failed to deliver on its promised flavor.

It’s definitely the most divided I’ve ever been on a new McDonald’s item, since I’ve recently liked testing out some of the new menu items, and they seldom get it wrong.

Is it still worth a shot? Absolutely. Especially if, like me, you enjoy chicken burgers and want to try something different. You never know, this may be the one.

What about me? Well, I found it was a little underwhelming, especially since McDonald’s promised a “game-changing” burger, which I believed it fell short of. At the very least, I’ll take the Chicken Big Mac or the Chicken Legend back.
