Russia launched a series of missile attacks on Ukrainian towns over the weekend, including Lviv, the western city that has been harboring a significant number of internally displaced Ukrainians, raising the prospect of a fresh wave of Ukrainian refugees. However, other variables, such as probable energy outages in Ukraine this winter and food and fertilizer exports causing famine in Africa, are predicted to have an influence on the number of migrants from Ukraine and Africa.
These and other concerns will be discussed during a panel discussion on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9:30 a.m., co-sponsored by the Center for Immigration Studies and the Hungarian Migration Research Institute.
