Where to watch the first season finale of “The Last of Us” online

Players may now finally watch The Last of Us on television. The iconic post-apocalyptic computer game is being adapted for television by HBO Max, which reunites a number of fan favorites from the studio’s other successful shows. The show’s greatest first-night crowd was seen in the penultimate episode, which has the potential to surpass House of the Dragon’s record.

The Last of Us, which takes place 20 years after a fungus turns people into zombies, stars Pedro Pascal as the tough survivor and smuggler Joel, who is tasked with transporting Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, across the former United States to a research facility in the West. Ellie is played by Bella Ramsey, a fellow Game of Thrones alum.The teenager may have the key to a treatment for the illness that has killed the majority of humanity because she is miraculously resistant after being bitten by an infected individual. Murray Bartlett, Lamar Johnson, Gabriel Luna, Melanie Lynskey, Nick Offerman, Nico Parker, Jeffrey Pierce, Storm Reid, Anna Torv, Keivonn Woodard, and others all appear in the program.

Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) teamed with Naughty Dog game creator Neil Druckman to adapt the PlayStation hit into a series, and the duo has hinted to The Hollywood Reporter at a second season.

The first season spans nine episodes, each ranging from 46 to 81 minutes long, and released weekly at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. The season one finale of The Last Of Us will be available at that time on Sunday, March 12.

A subscription to HBO Max is required to stream The Last of Us online, and plans are $10 monthly for the ad-supported option or $16 per month for the ad-free tier. Annual plans are $100 to $150, or a 16 to 20 percent discount off monthly billing.

Both packages include access to award-winning series and original shows including House of the Dragon, Euphoria and The White Lotus; the Oscar-nominated films Elvis and The Banshees of Inisherin; and more. However, only the ad-free plan lets subscribers stream in 4K UHD and download content to watch later.
